Menteri Besar Perak yang sah, Dato' Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin akan menyaman TV3 dan Utusan Malaysia kerana memfitnahnya dalam isu nombor pendaftaran WWW1. Menurut beliau, laporan media kawalan Umno itu memutar belit kenyataan kononnya beliau menuduh Sultan Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar menggunakan duit rakyat RM520,000 untuk membida WWW1.
"Mesej tweeter saya tidak lebih daripada pandangan seorang rakyat. RM520,000 boleh dibelanjakan kepada perkara lain yang lebih bermanfaat. Itu hanya pandangan. Tapi TV3 dan Utusan Malaysia putar belit. Mereka lapor saya tuduh Sultan Johor guna wang rakyat untuk beli nombor plat," katanya pada sidang media di lobi Parlimen 12 Jun lalu.
Ahli Parlimen Bukit Gantang itu juga sedia menghadap Sultan Johor pada bila-bila masa bagi menyatakan perkara sebenar. Beliau berkata, pihaknya akan mengutus surat untuk mohon menghadap ke Istana Johor.
"Saya ingin menyatakan seikhlas-ikhlas hati di hadapan semua, saya teringin untuk menghadap, memohon maaf dan menceritakan kepada Baginda hal yang sebenarnya supaya kemelut ini dapat dihentikan," katanya. Dalam pada itu, Nizar turut mempertikai tindakan berat sebelah polis kerana gagal bertindak ke atas laporan Kosmo walaupun terang-terangan mempersenda Sultan Johor dalam isu berkenaan.
